The Story So Far
Inside the world of Brayla Madison
Brayla Madison is a genre-fluid recording artist whose music is driven by instinct, emotion, and discipline. Balancing basketball with a growing career in music, she represents a new generation of multidimensional talent redefining what it means to be an artist.
Born in Los Angeles, Brayla Madison’s creative identity was shaped by movement, rhythm, and feeling. A natural freestyler since childhood, her creative process is instinct-first. She steps into the booth without pre-listening to the beat, allowing emotion to lead the first take. From there, she builds each record with intention and precision, shaping raw feeling into fully realized songs.
A defining chapter of Brayla Madison’s journey took place inside the legendary North Hollywood recording rooms once known as One on One Recording Studios and later 17 Hertz Studio — the iconic facility where Metallica recorded their landmark Black Album. Over multiple eras, the studio has hosted artists including Michael Jackson, Jimi Hendrix, Aretha Franklin, Etta James, Earth, Wind & Fire, The Temptations, Alice in Chains, KISS, Tom Petty, and many more. In its modern era, the facility served major-label and independent clients including Universal Music Group, Def Jam, Motown, Interscope, Atlantic Records, Warner Music Group, and Sony Music, alongside artists such as Chance The Rapper, Halsey, Tyler, The Creator, YG, T.I., French Montana, Lil Yachty, Mark Ronson, Prince Royce, Rita Ora, and Zendaya.
During her early development, Brayla Madison became one of the youngest — if not the youngest — artists to independently book and block out Studio A at the facility, holding the room as her creative home. While attending school during the week, she opened the space to fellow artists, producers, and engineers at no additional charge, creating a collaborative environment that fostered constant creative exchange.
In these sessions, Brayla Madison would often freestyle in the room while multiple writers gathered around the creative process. In an environment where ideas moved fast and collaboration was constant, she quickly learned how easily moments could blur and how important it was to understand the dynamics of creative spaces. With cameras documenting her journey, she gained early awareness of how artistry, authorship, and reputation are shaped in real time. Within the studio community, she became known as a natural top-liner — often referred to as “the top-line princess” — a title she would later come to fully understand as her career evolved.
Many of the collaborators she worked with during this time have since gone on to become gold and platinum songwriters, engineers, producers, and leading stylists across music, fashion, and entertainment. Many of these individuals remain an active part of her creative world today. She has since continued this tradition by hosting recording sessions for upcoming and underfunded artists, creating space for the next generation of creatives to develop, collaborate, and be heard.
Growing up inside professional studio culture gave Brayla early exposure to the realities of the music business — both the beauty of collaboration and the complexity behind the scenes. That experience shaped her perspective, strengthened her discipline, and helped her build a clear understanding of ownership, integrity, and long-term vision.
Brayla has worked with platinum producer Billy Moss (Return of the Mack), collaborated with Billboard-charting guitarist Lemek, and created alongside platinum and multi-platinum songwriters including iShowOff, Max Lux, Tristan Rice, Nikki Paige, Knotch, and Alfred Jackson (currently touring with Alicia Keys’ Hell’s Kitchen). She has also collaborated with a new generation of producers shaping today’s including Vitals, Kwak Z, Mitch Maanao, and Shod Beats.
Her sound is cinematic, emotionally honest, and immersive, built for connection and longevity.
Beyond the studio, Brayla Madison is also an athlete, competing in travel basketball with 7Days 17U Gold Basketball and varsity competition. Her dedication to sport informs her discipline, work ethic, and mental approach to music, creating a rare balance of artistry and athleticism.
She is also the founder of Beyond the Bag Foundation, a philanthropic initiative focused on community impact, financial literacy, and wellness for youth athletes, musicians, and creatives. Her work off the court and outside the studio reflects the same commitment she brings to her craft.
Brayla Madison is entering a new era with her upcoming lead single, Focus XIV, releasing January 29, 2026. The record marks the beginning of a genre-fluid chapter rooted in instinct, evolution, and self-belief.
